
About the Institute
The Aurea Libertas Institute is a non-governmental organization established in 2009. Our mission is to run educational projects, study innovative technologies in society, promote personal liberty, entrepreneurship and the republican spirit, and to support culture-related education and activities. The Institute also provides consulting services for local governments, businesses and NGOs.
Goals of the Institute
- Researching and popularizing the political and legal tradition and the cultural heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in Poland and abroad.
- Initiating and supporting projects and solutions aimed at protecting civil rights and liberties, economic freedom, and at activating civil society and strengthening community ties in Poland and Europe.
- Promoting civic initiatives undertaken for the common good and a culture of responsibility for public affairs.
- Researching and popularizing the use of modern technologies in society, including: e-administration, collective intelligence, open data, crowdsourcing, e-participation, e-consultation, and online decision-making.
- Developing and strengthening attitudes of active cooperation in the development of local communities, entrepreneurship, and civil society.
- Promoting and protecting European cultural heritage, in particular the shared heritage of Central and Eastern Europe — Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine.
- Organizing public debate on cultural heritage and the political and legal tradition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
- Supporting education, learning, and the mobility of school and university youth, thereby strengthening Polish science.
- Operating as a business support institution.
- Acting on behalf of culture, the arts, and the protection of cultural heritage and tradition.
- Counteracting pathologies of public life, especially in the area of strengthening the rule of law and ensuring political freedom.
- Integrating and supporting communities and initiatives whose goals align with those of the Foundation.
